How can we Print Finish?

Lamination
Is the process of applying a thin layer of plastic to paper or card sheets to enhance and protect the printed matter. Common types of laminate are gloss, matt and silk.
Spot UV Varnishing
(Ultraviolet) is a special print finishing technique that allows a gloss varnish to be applied to specific areas of a printed piece giving a shiny effect.
Embossing
Is the process of creating either raised or recessed relief images and designs in paper and other materials.
Foil Blocking
(Or hot foil stamping) is the process of applying metallic or pigment foil to paper or card, where a heated die is stamped onto the foil.
Die Cutting
Is a way to create unique shapes in printed material. It’s often used artistically on covers to cut windows into the book or on interior pages to create flaps.
Scoring
Is the process of making a crease in paper so it will fold easier, a paper score is a ridge that is indented into the paper where the fold line will occur.
Creasing
Is a process that prepares the paper for folding by creating two parallel folding points.
Perforating
Allows easy separation of two sections of the material, such as allowing paper to be torn easily along the line.
Numbering
Refers to printing numbers in sequential order on sets of forms or other printed pieces. Each form or piece gets a unique number and is printed in either ascending or descending numerical order.
Glueing
Print adhesives are used when two print pieces need to be attached or when a single piece is connected to itself.
Horseshoe Glueing
Re-moist gumming is a specialised type of gluing where adhesive gum is applied to an area of the sheet of paper to allow subsequent sealing by the end-user. The gum is normally moistened which makes it sticky and attached to another area of the product.
Shrink-Wrapping
Is a process that uses relatively soft polyolefin film in which a loose sheath of film is created around the product, sometimes sealed on two sides.
