WPG's sister company Sign City UK were delighted to work in partnership with the team at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH). The brief given for their popular on-site restaurant Denbigh's was to help them create a modern space for a minimum price to provide a welcoming atmosphere for their patients, visitors and staff.
As a Trust at the centre of its community, RJAH likes to work with local suppliers where possible.
Sign City UK worked in partnership with them to provide a professional and swift service, bouncing ideas around to get the best result at the best price.
Sian Langford - Deputy Facilities Manager at RJAH said:
"We can't recommend the team enough; the standard of work was excellent, and we've already got plans for more improvements working with them. Welshpool Printing Group invests in new technology
- August 2018
Welshpool Printing Group are delighted to introduce their new innovative 8 colour retrofit LED-UV printer. This is the 1st retrofit in the UK of an XO system onto a Komori S29.
LED-UV printing is a new technology that fits perfectly for the 8 colour with quicker turnaround, allowing the ink to dry instantly as there is very little ink absorbed into the paper when it comes off the press, bringing richer enhanced colours. This means it can be finished straight away without the risk of spoiling the job.
Keeping all the benefits of traditional high quality litho print, LED-UV print is the ultimate in colour vibrancy.
The benefits of LED-UV include:
- Faster drying for quicker turnarounds
- Eco Friendly
- Sharper colours as ink doesn't dry into materials (more vibrant)
- More flexibility and versatility on what materials printed on, instantly dry on all materials
- No marking issues
- Consistently high quality finishes
Ian Jones Director at WPG said:
"As one of the longer standing innovative printers in Mid-Wales & Shropshire we like to offer new ways of delivering products including offering different sizes, adding finishes, insert and promotional services and other cost saving initiatives. Our new printer is most certainly a cut above the rest and we look forward to working with our customers to further enhance their printing projects, really bringing them to life."
Continuously investing in new technology WPG position their customers at the centre of their business working closely with them to gain a full understanding of their needs. They pride themselves on a true partnership approach with effective communication to establish their customers' requirements and offer new exciting products in a competitive market.

Better & stronger together
The merger between Welshpool Printing Group, and direct mail specialist NRG of Shrewsbury, has been a great success. The concept of design, print, pack and post being offered by a single local business is proving to be an attractive proposition to clients of both companies.
Why? Because the expansion of the company now has the ability to offer their clients the complete package with advice from highly experienced staff - something which is greatly appreciated taking the burden away from them. The company says: "Our aim is to provide a one stop shop - from design to door. Business growth is also one of the key goals."
Welshpool Printing Group Ltd has been based in Welshpool since 1960 and employs 50 staff. The business provides a choice of either high quality Litho or Digital Print solutions to customers, throughout the UK.
NRG Direct Mail, meanwhile, employs a team of nine staff at Battlefield Enterprise Park. Both bases have been retained in the merger and there are no job losses. Established by Nick Chavasse over a decade ago, it provides printing, packing and posting services and manages cost-effective direct mail marketing campaigns on behalf of clients.
The two companies, who have been working together for a number of years, recognised great opportunities for growth due to the synergy between the two businesses. Paul Jones, WPG's Managing Director and now NRG's Managing Director said: "The merger makes perfect sense as we are now able to offer a more efficient and integrated package of services comprising design, print, finishing and mailing. We have inherited a great team at NRG and wish Nick all the best with his future ventures. The ultimate goal is to grow our joint turnover over the next five years, creating new employment opportunities along the way."
So, if you need the stability of service that comes from a strong mutually beneficial partnership, then let the newly merged companies show you how it can make a difference to your business helping you cut costs on Print, Production and Distribution.
